St Ives Townhouse

Property details

St Ives Townhouse
St Ives, Cornwall — Sleeps 8 — Dogs welcome

This is a four-bedroom townhouse in an elevated position in St Ives, with far-reaching views across the town toward the sea from the living room and the walled garden above. It sleeps eight across three floors, has a wood burner in the main lounge, a skylight kitchen with a central island and a raised walled patio with a BBQ and sea views. Porthminster, Porthmeor and Bamaluz Beach are all half a mile on foot. The Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden are the same distance. Two dogs welcome.

The house is entered at ground floor level through a beautifully renovated interior that mixes the original period features of the building with contemporary fittings — exposed stone, neutral tones and enough space that eight people don’t feel on top of each other. Two car parking permits are included for the nearby car park.

St Ives Townhouse is managed directly by the owner. The link below takes you straight to their website to check availability.

Interior

The entrance opens into the main lounge — a generous, light-filled room with a wood burner, deep sofas and sea views. Through the lounge, the open-plan kitchen and dining space has a skylight, charcoal cabinetry, light worktops and a large central island. It’s a kitchen designed for a group that wants to cook properly rather than make do. The garden is accessible from here.

The first floor has two bedrooms — a double with an en-suite shower room, and a super-king with a dressing room and an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower. On the floor above, a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a further king-size bedroom share the family bathroom.

Two dogs welcome.

Exterior

Steps lead up from the kitchen to the raised, walled garden — a private patio with sea views, outdoor seating and a BBQ. The walls give shelter from the wind and the elevated position gives the views. On a clear evening it earns its place as the reason you’re here.

Two car parking permits are included for the nearby car park.

What to know before you arrive

Porthminster, Porthmeor and Bamaluz are all half a mile from the house on foot. Bamaluz — the small cove between the harbour and Porthgwidden — is open to dogs all year with no restrictions and is the closest year-round dog beach to the property. Porthminster and Porthmeor both restrict dogs from 15 May to 30 September, 10am–6pm — before 10am in summer both are accessible and noticeably quieter than later in the day.

The South West Coast Path runs in both directions from the town. West toward Zennor is 6.5 miles one way — a demanding, rocky route with the Tinners’ Arms at the end. East toward Carbis Bay and Lelant is gentler, with the St Ives Bay Line running back if legs give out. Clodgy Point, a National Trust headland a mile north of the town, is open to dogs all year.
