It’s the perfect spot to relax with your pooch and enjoy the coastal air. The town center of Lyme Regis is within easy reach, and a short walk will take you to the seafront, family-friendly beaches, and the famous Cobb harbour. The town boasts a great selection of independent shops and galleries, as well as a variety of restaurants, pubs, and eateries, many specialising in local food and seafood.
Lyme Regis is a popular destination for hikers and dog walkers, with the South West Coastal Footpath running along the unspoiled Jurassic Coast, passing through picturesque seaside villages like Branscombe and Beer, known for its limestone cliffs and charming beach where you can watch fishermen haul in their catches.
Nearby Charmouth, with its Heritage Coastal Centre, is the perfect place to learn about the area’s rich fossil-hunting history, and you can even join a fossil-hunting trip to find your own treasures along the shore.
Other great day trips include visiting The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth or taking a picturesque tram ride in Seaton along the River Axe estuary through nature reserves to Colyford and Colyton, Both attractions are dog friendly, welcoming dogs on leads.
