When you click through from a Poochouse recommendation to book a property, you are entering into a direct booking agreement with the property owner — not with Poochouse. This page explains what that means and what Poochouse's role is in that process.
Poochouse's role
Poochouse is an introducer. We introduce you to properties and their owners. We do not take payment, hold deposits, issue booking confirmations, or enter into any contractual relationship on your behalf. Once you click through to a property's booking page, you are dealing directly with the owner or their appointed booking agent.
Your booking contract
Your booking contract is with the property owner. The owner's own terms and conditions — including their cancellation policy, damage deposit requirements, pet policy, and check-in arrangements — will apply to your stay. You should read these carefully before confirming your booking.
Poochouse has no authority to amend, waive, or enforce the owner's terms. Any dispute arising from your stay must be resolved directly with the owner.
Payment
All payments for your stay are made directly to the property owner or their booking platform. Poochouse does not handle any funds related to your booking. You should not make any payment to Poochouse for a cottage booking.
Cancellation
Cancellation terms vary by property and are set by the owner. Before booking, please check the cancellation policy carefully. Poochouse cannot issue refunds, as we do not hold any of your funds.
Accuracy of information
We take care to ensure the property information on this site is accurate, but details can change — pricing, availability, facilities, and pet policies in particular. Always confirm the current details directly with the owner before booking. We cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies in third-party property listings.
Affiliate commissions
Some of our property links are affiliate links. If you book via one of these links, we may receive a small commission from the property owner or platform. This is paid by the owner, not by you, and does not affect the price you pay.
Problems during your stay
If something goes wrong during your stay, contact the property owner directly in the first instance — they are best placed to resolve any issue quickly. If you are unable to resolve a problem with the owner and believe you have a claim, your options include the owner's platform dispute process (if applicable), your travel insurance, or a charge dispute with your card provider.
Poochouse is not able to mediate or adjudicate booking disputes, and we have no contractual obligation to do so.
Questions
If you have questions about a specific property before booking, we're happy to help where we can — email us at travel@poochouse.co.uk. For questions about a booking already made, please contact the owner directly.
